EPICENTER


The epicenter of this quake was pinpointed to a latitude of 61.1 degrees North and a longitude of 147.4 degrees West at a depth of between 20 and 50 kilometers under Prince William Sound.

Most of the aftershocks were dispersed throughout an area of about 100,000 square miles, primarily along the Aleutian Trench between Prince William Sound and the seaward side of Kodiak Island.
